Okay, so I have heard stories from friends about what it's like to have a panic attack. Well, last night I got home after a grueling, expensive, and time-sensitive photo shoot...I experienced my own panic attack, first-hand. Upon arriving home to spend all night retouching to ship the photos out in the morning, I found my CF card was empty! Of course I freaked! No money or time to do another shoot, and absolutely NO way I could face my partners in the morning with such a lame story... Especially given I had had several opportunities to pull the files off the card during the shoot, but stupidly didn't. Anyway, after 25 minutes of "ohmygod, ohmygod, thiscannotbehappening", and then 5 more relaxed minutes of Googling, I stumbled upon Stellar Phoenix Photo Recovery. I thought there's NO way this could be so easy (the card had clearly been reformatted, a process I thought would make the photos totally unrecoverable...) But the software worked, and pulled EVERYTHING from the card successfully! So I probably could have spared myself from sprouting gray hairs had I found Stellar Pheonix a few minutes earlier but hey, better late than never. Made my deadline. So pleased!

didn`t work

Didn't work. no pictures were identified to save. I downloaded it twice to double check.
Does this really work on a MAC?

Good but expensive

Very good software, easy to use. But too expensive.

Thank YOU!

I am a skydiving photographer. Jumping is expensive. After a weekend of organized shooting for Christmas promos my card went corrupted as soon as I went to download.
I tried everything. I have the best software from Lexar, I have a mac and am limited to software.
Your software was the ONLY one that could read the card and it got back Most of the images. Only lost two to three.
I spent literally over 24 hours straight trying to figure it out. I've had corrupted cards before, but not like this. It was scary.
The Stellar Phoenix Photo Recovery software read the card without fail the first time, as advertised and after I got the activation key all I did was press a button and the images were saved to a folder on my desktop. WOW, what a sigh of relief. As a professional paid photographer you usually don't get a second chance. Thanks guys for creating something for us common computer folk to use.
Check out the images I saved on this little slide show

Doesn`t read sd card in camera

I have a Mac and a Nikon D90 camera.
I hooked up the camera to the computer as I always do, turned it on.
Your software did not recognize the sd card in the camera.

So now, if I want to use your software, I must purchase a separate card reader.
This doesn't work for me. Your software should be able to recognize the sd card in camera.

thank you.

Great software!

This is an excellent piece of software with an easy-to-understand interface. My 2GB Lexar camera card was formatted by accident.

I first attempted to use PHOTORECOVERY (LC Technology International) which caused a total system crash on my MacPro--a waste of $39.

But Stellar Photo Recovery saved the day for me, recovering over 99% of the photos on my camera card. I highly recommend this software. Too bad I didn't start with it.

Canon Eos 350 CF error recovery

Hello everyone. We used a Canon Eos 350 in order to get some publicity
shots for a band and for some strange reason the memory card deleted/
corrupted/generally lost everything.

I hunted around on the net and found the Stellar Phoenix app. It's cheap, it's cheerful and it works. It's not the fastest program in the world, but then, it doesn't have to be. Plug your camera in, go and make a pot of tea. Leave it to brew (you don't like watery tea, anyway, do you?). Sit down with your tea and a book. Maybe the odd biscuit. Revel in your moment of calm.

When you've had your tea, go and check your computer. You should see a
good proportion of the pictures you thought you'd lost. Be aware that you may also find images of your mate who you lent the camera to last summer, so a broad mind could be a good thing here.

Anyway. We got some good pictures of the band. Now all we have to do is learn how to play our instruments.

Mac photo recovery

The program does what it claims, documentation could be better explained. It is slow processing the files for recovery, apart from that it does all that it claims. I would purchase other products from the same company.

Ease of use

The software locates plugged-in (mounted) drives automatically. So it was literally one click to salvage my photos. I had reformatted the card before realising I had not backed up my photos. There were movies on the SD card to confuse matters. (It does not do movie recovery)

Work in progress

This program is generally well-executed. However, I had a problem with a 2GB corrupted SD card. The
program kept quitting without recovering the photos. Technical support was outstanding. These guys are
not native English speakers, so describe your problems without the use of contractions, slang, or figures
of speech. They bent over backwards trying to solve this problem, and I finally recovered all 600+ photos
which were recoverable. You should realize that with a smaller SD card and fewer than 100 photos, the
program worked just as advertised.

The program is a work in progress, and the next version will be even better. I know, because they sent me
a beta of v. 2.0 to solve my problem.

Big Problem

I can't continue with this software, because it's not very good after one use.

I use a Canon 20D and my recovered photo data is too small to use. The recovered data is incredibly pixelated and only usable as gifs. This means, essentially, that my photos were not recovered.

Please let me now how to go about getting a refund.
